Unfortunately, the viruses do not get sent only from address books, but can be routinely sent from names on messages in the person's inbox. For those of us who keep lots of email, if we get a virus, it could go to many, many people. I cannot understand why people will not purchase and keep up to date a virus program. I once asked an ISP about warning people to get virus programs, and they disagreed that it was not their business to do this. I guess they thought it would cost them business. In my opinion computer sellers and ISPs , as well as Rootsweb, could help people by stressing the need for virus protection.
