    3. Thanks again for the input. I had to drive past many of the places in the postcards today when I ran an errand. I passed Lakeview Park, Antlers, got stopped at the light at Erie and Broadway and took a good look up Broadway, then headed over the Bascule bridge. I viewed everything very differently after having just looked closely at all those postcards just 15 minutes or so before I left the house. I think it might be fun to get out and take some pictures of what those places look like today and do a kind of "then and now" page. If I could only find the time to do all the things I want to do...... Mary

    2. Mary, The pixs brought back a lot of memories for me.The pix "looking North on Broadway",did you notice the way the cars were parked???.We used to go down town on Saturday night,5000 people had the same idea, and park our car and stand in front of the car and greet every one you knew. The people were shoulder to shoulder. The bath house where we used to swim and the little store to buy goodies. Antlers Hotel were we dine and had many school dances. The bascule bridge. I attended the ceremony the day it open. Cascade park where my folks took me to play. The shipyard, I laid awake at night and could here the Rat-a-Tat-Tat of ships being built for the war. I could go on and on but, It brings back a lot of memories for me. I also have post cards and someday I will put them on my web site. If you are interested in the early history of Lorain,go to my Web Site at http://www.hartsfamilytree.com and click on "The William Smith Story". It takes you back to 1810. 3. Thanks, for sharing your memories. I took a look at your page and I enjoyed it. I have bookmarked it to go back and read more. I really enjoyed the picture's of Casper Dute's barns on 254. I have been driving by those old barns for years and I always wonder about their history.
