This Civil War veteran buried in Wellington in 1900, may have had his grave marked with a free government marker if his wife or other relative was not able to afford a marker. The "Lorain County Burials Locations of Veterans of Various Wars", compiled by Burton J. Nesbitt & published in 1991 by the Black River Genealogists, has him listed as F.L.Wells, though the Greenwood Cem. Records book lists him as F.S. Wells.
