    3. This Civil War veteran buried in Wellington in 1900, may have had his grave marked with a free government marker if his wife or other relative was not able to afford a marker. The "Lorain County Burials Locations of Veterans of Various Wars", compiled by Burton J. Nesbitt & published in 1991 by the Black River Genealogists, has him listed as F.L.Wells, though the Greenwood Cem. Records book lists him as F.S. Wells. Those old fancy script "L"s did often look like "S"s. -- Nancy M. Meyers, Lorain OH
