Military service records will be fairly brief, just info on when and where he enlisted, where he might have served, and when and where discharged. Pension records will be more detailed. One of my ancestors pension records was 82 pages. Statements from neighbors and friends, info from the undertaker who buried him and his first wife, statements from his second wife, some of his children, etc Can make interesting reading. Gary R. Is one better than the other as far as genealogy info or should I order both or is one all inclusive.
