To benefit our children and grandchildren, most of us continue to do research on the families of former spouses. My former sister-in-law had been missing for 60 years. Recently when she was diagnosed with cancer in CA, her only daughter, age 58, who lived in yet another western state, decided to try to find relatives in the east where her mother had been born. My former sister-in-law did get to see her brother (my former husband of 25 yrs.) for a few hours before she died. Sadly at age 16, she ran away and had cut herself off from everyone in 1946. Her own mother died the following year in 1947 after being in a TB sanitarium for 6 years. She and her two siblings had been made wards of the court. Thru the years, following every possible clue, I tried in many ways, as well as spending a size-able sum of money, 1966-1993 to locate her. What tangled webs we humans weave. Do not give up on your research! Nancy
