    3. Anna, Without a name, no one can locate the name of your veteran or put something on the site. Your message came thru on Sat. at 9:30 AM, as many of the local genealogists are readying for the FF/LC banquet & induction ceremony being held tonight in Wellington. Do you know approx. where in Crown Hill he is buried and what sort of marker to look for? Crown Hill is not a small cemetery. I would be willing take one of my geraniums over there after church tomorrow AM.- Nancy M. 3. Thanks Nancy, It's for Herman A. Short, b. 1896, d. 1957; his grave is on the north side of the inner big oval part, right about the middle of the side, nearest the road. He's buried in the KOEPKE plot, which has a large four-sided stone marker, like an obelisk, with KOEPKE on it, and graves on either side of it. As you stand at the road looking at it, his grave will be on your right, and has a plain flat rectangular stone marker (veteran issue) and also has a little bronze standing marker denoting his WWI service. I was there this past June with my uncle, and from recollection, we drove in on the main road, then around the loop, stopping mid-way on the other side of it, right by the graves. I seem to remember some trees toward the west of the Koepkes, but none over their graves (it was hot and I was looking for shade!). I hope that helps; I am sorry for the lateness of the request. Like I said, sometimes I get these great ideas a bit late! I appreciate anything you are willing to do, Nancy. I never knew my grampa, except by stories from my dad. So I'm grateful you are helping me to honor his memory. If you are driving from downtown Amherst, you will pass the old family home at 317 S Main; I don't know who lives there now. Thanks again, SOOO MUCH!
