My Lorain County names are: Henry SHORT, married to Elizabeth MILLER, both of Kurhessen, Germany; their son Henry Jr. was born 1857 in Amherst. Also had sons John, Charles Frederick, and Peter, and daughters Katherine and M? something (or possibly Emma). Henry Jr. married Augusta WARDESKA. Their son Herman Albert SHORT married Anna Marie WEBER, in 1919 in Amherst. Anna's parents were William WEBER, from Vincennes, Indiana, and Catherine KOEPKE (both born 1876). Catherine's parents were Karl KOEPKE and Elizabeth WERNER. Karl was from Teschendorf, Mechlenburg-Strelitz, Germany; son of Johann KOEPKE and Anna HINTZ, (b. about 1815's) Names connected to these lines by marriage: BLOOM, COOLEY, GRAY, MARTIN, WILLIAMS, STARK, KREEGER, and I'm sure many others I'm forgetting. I made a visit to Amherst this past June, and met Orville Manes, among the other wonderful folks at your History library; I wish I'd been able to spend more time there, but my uncle was not as "into" this as I am, so we had to go. We had a lot of fun taking a tour of places he remembered from his "hey day", and we began teasing him about all the girls he used to date. It was fun, and all too brief. I do plan to come back and delve more deeply into the files! Just have to let time, money and opportunity collide. Anna Hanson
