I used uncertified for my DAR. To my knowledge they take it either way. I do know that some other societies do require certified but Daughters of the Confederacy and DAR are not among those who do NOT. Excuse this possibly off-topic question, but I have been wondering this for a while. For those in the DAR, what benefits are there for joining, besides possible scholarship help for kids? I'm an adult, nearing 40, no kids, and I know I have the ancestry to join, but wonder why I should. I have considered that it would help my nieces and nephews if I joined, but other than that, why? Thanks, and you can answer me off-list so we don't take up resources with this non-Lorain County item. Anna Hanson Karen Krugman wrote: > I used uncertified for my DAR.
