I've been on this list for a few years now and I know that this is off topic, but just last week I moved from Parma, Ohio to Corpus Christi, Texas and with this new hurricane bearing down on us here, I'm getting a little nervous about it and am asking everyone on this list to please keep us in your prayers. I'm not even done unpacking yet and now I have to pack up again and move what I can out of my house. If Corpus Christi gets a direct hit, chances are that my house will be badly damaged or even gone. I'm in a rental house and the landlord won't board up my windows. I just spent like $3,500 between moving and renting a house, so I'm financially tapped at the moment and haven't even had time to go find a job yet, so I can't afford to go buy the lumber needed to board up the windows myself. I'm having to leave a lot of my belongings here in the house and of course we not only have to worry about the high winds, but flooding and looting also. They have issued a mandatory evacuation order for the city, so most people are boarding up and getting out. Unfortunately, I'm not able to leave because I have my 2 cats that I refuse to leave behind and because I just spent all my money to move here. I will be staying at my ex-mother-in-laws house, which is a brick house and hopefully I'll be safe there. I'm sending my 17 year old daughter out of town with people from the church, so at least she will be safe. I will however be taking my computer with me where I go and I'll be online until the power goes out, if it even does. My prayer is that the hurricane turns a little and has mercy on this city!
