    3. I saw on the news that they were letting some people take their cats. I hope the hurricane curves too. How far inland is your ex-mother-in-law's house? They say you should be at least 5 to 10 miles inland, and you could even drive with your cats even further inland just for the day and sleep in the car, and then go back to ensure your safety. I am sure a lot of people are in similar situations as you are. I would also just make sure your daughter and others know where you are so they can have others check on you after the storm. At least you're not in a bowl like in New Orleans -- the water will come in, and it will leave -- not just sit. I'm sure everyone's prayers will be with you and anyone else stuck there. This weather is really getting crazy! Oh, and by the way, besides the red cross offering supplies and donations, there are many many apartments and rooms offered for free to hurricane victims online if your apartment building gets severely damaged. Below are just two of the sites: http://neworleans.craigslist.org/hhh/ http://www.hurricanehousing.org Take care and best wishes!
