    1. Re: [OHLORAIN] Black River Church of the Brethren
    2. Hello Cathy, I love family stories...mine and others...they are interesting. I visited a friend in Atlanta back in 1973 (whenever "Underground" was still open) and hated the traffic. "Underground" was fun...lots of bars and entertainment.I don't like the interstate and will go 20 minutes out of my way to avoid them! Maybe it has something to do with my age...when I learned to drive, there weren't very many highways. The Ohio Turnpike was built when I was a teenager and I was 22 or 23 when I-71 North was started. I live in Brunswick, Medina County but grew up in Berea (Cuyahoga county). My Dad's family is from Elyria which is why I originally signed onto ohLorain -- I luckily met a cousin who I didn't even know I had. She has traced the family tree back 7 generations into Germany on my Dad's dad's side....still don't know much about his Mom's family. Maybe when I retire I can spend more time. I thought I was 100% German on his side...come to find out, from another cousin who found me using snail mail, his mother's mother's maiden name was McGuire! Not too German, eh? My Mom's people are all English..one fought in the Revolutionary war..YES on our side! :-) (one of my friends asked me that and I LOL) You have warmer weather in Atlanta than here in Northern Ohio, although this winter has been more than decent. Only snowed once so far, which is how I like it. Alice
