I have been looking at the 1850 census for Elyria Township.In the household of Philip Beal there is a Maria Beal 80 years old and was born in Germany I assume she was his mother. The thing that is puzzling to be is this is the first and only time I have seen any mention of her. She must be in a Cemetery some where. People don't generally disappear. What happened to her? Where would you look for some sort of a record. Most people don't live very far past 80? Ken

Hi Ken. My GrGm lived to be about 87. She went back and forth between Chicago relatives and Carlisle relatives for 3 Census. Check other households in surrounding area as well as out of state.
