    3. Dear Virginia, Thanks a lot for your perspective on the aging process. For I was just joking around, sort of to make Alice laugh, and she was writing in a light-hearted manner. I mentioned that I was 11 years old in 1965, and Alice came back with the comment about her age, and then I made a joke about "the old lady in the mirror" that follows me around too! I don't really think that I'm old; my husband and I are still raising our 14 year old son, and I thank God for those glorious days, also. Believe me when I tell you that if someone says I'm getting old, I always respond with "it's better than the alternative!"; which of course is not being around to get old! It's good to remember that our messages were being read by the whole board. My best wishes on your genealogical search. It doesn't matter how old one is when one starts the search, it's the search that counts. I started my search in earnest about 3 years ago when my mother died. I'm an only child who never knew much about the DALY family. I can't believe that I come from 2 families whose roots go back about 400 years on the BLACKBURN side, and 200 years on the DALY side! That is awesome!!! My husband's grandparents go back 100 years, and 150 years, and a lot of my friends are only 3rd generation Americans. I do have one lady friend who's a Mayflower descendant. I'm hoping that my husband and I have long lives ahead of ourselves. Both his grandfathers reached the mature ages of 85 and 95, respectively. My Grgf DALY was 98 when he died, and his wife was 85. My mom was 81, as was my husband's dad. So I'm not planning on departing this earth for some time, and I plan to enjoy it while I'm here. Again, thanks so much for your thoughts on the aging process!
