    3. Does anyone know... I know that during a certain period of time in the 1900's a woman who married an American citizen automatically became naturalized. My question is - did the woman have to fill out any papers/application for citizenship and if so, where would those files be kept - locally or at the Federal Archives? Thanks for any help! 3. Hi Pat, This is Virinia in Akron Ohio. My Mother was born in Somerset PA IN 1902 and married my Dad in 1920. He came from Maddaloni Italy in 1910. When she married my Dad she lost all her American rights and had to go to court to get her rights back I have her papers from the court but I could not fine it on the Akron Court site.
