    2. Has anyone on the list subscribed to Ancestrys US Census list? Was it easy for you to read and easy to use? Did you feel that it was worth the money? I'm trying to research family in South Dakota and Minnesota. The trips to WRHS to access their Census rolls are beginning to add up. Would anyone care to comment? Thanks. Jean

    3. I use the census at Ancestry almost daily (no I won't do lookups). I found the copies to be very good, and for me worth the money. The nearest library that has that much census information for me is either Burton (Detroit) or Library of Michigan (Lansing). Although driving to Lansing 1 1/2 hours) is doable, it gets expensive going there every day. Detroit is closer but not as user friendly. I'd pay again. 3. Jean, I have used this subscription for some time. Every day it is becoming more useful. I could not manage without it...or not very happily. I live in Florida. The local library has a very good collection of materials about the southeastern US. My people were ALL Yankees. They lived in New England and then Ohio, Michigan and on further to the middle west...Iowa & Kansas in particular. I have to order in EVERYTHING through the Family History Center. They have but one printer, and it frequently is not working. Since I have subscribed to the Census I have been able to locate and print all the images I could ever want. They have added the indexes to many of the censuses and more are coming. They now promise to have all the 1930 census images on line within 3 months, with indexes also available on line by the end of the year. You have the capability of printing part of a page or all of it. Be sure to download their free MrSID program. I am NOT an Ancestry employee, but I sure am an Ancestry.com fan. I also subscribe to the database subscription, and find new leads all the time. There are times when the access is a little slow, when all the rest of the world is trying to get to the Census, but usually the pages just pop right up. I am fortunate to have a cable modem and that really helps. For the past month or so everything has really come up fast. I have learned how to maneuver around the pages pretty rapidly...it comes with practice...and can get right to what I want. It really makes a difference looking at the actual page, because you can see where transcribers have mis-read things, and you can wander around and find other relatives maybe on the next page...it is WONDERFUL. It is easy to magnify the image so that you can read it. I cannot recommend it enough. To coin a phrase....:"Try it..You'll like it." dhallgren
