    3. I have a subscription to Ancestry's US Census database and found it very productive. The images can be enlarged so that you can read them quite easily. They also can be copied or printed. If you copy them you need to make sure that you have the image at the resolution you want to copy or you may not be able to read it afterwards. Some of the censuses have been indexed so that you can search for the individual via the index and then go straight to the image area that the name is located. I cannot remember, since I belong to another service that has images, but you may have to page forward a page or two, if the name is not on the 1 page. They are continuously adding to the indexes, but if you know where you want to look already, you can easily go to the correct page using the enumeration districts and then it is a page by page search just like you would do at a library, if you do not know the exact page to go to. I would say that I got my money's worth and have an annual subscription, since I periodically need to return to look up someone. I believe that you can also get it monthly, if you really only need to access it for a short time, since the monthly rate will cost you much more for a year than the annual rate. Hope this helps you with your decision making. 3. I too have a subscription to ancestry's census database and I agree with your reference to it's ease of use productivity. However, I would suggest that it is better to save an image in their existing file format, rather than the final resolution you desire (unless you are ready to cut and past something into a document of course). By saving the file "as is", you can use the same free plug-in to your browser that is available on ancestry.com to look at them on your disk and zoom in and out just as easy as online. Also, if you send the file to a relative or friend, you can tell them to download the free plugin from ancestry to view the record. Lastly, you can always make a zoom-in jpg file later if you want.
