Yes, now back to genealogy.... Sarah Minard did live in Elyria, but perhaps was not in the Elyria area when she died. Have you checked on the Sarah Minarde who died 1917 in Summit Co.? She nor son-in-law Tom do not have death records on file at the Elyria Health Dept. There was a Thomas E. Smith who did die in Lorain County somewhere on May 29, 1933 per OHS deaths online. In 1907... Elyria directory, Sarah & Mrs. Mary J. Smith live at 417 Adams St. No mention of Thomas himself in this directory. 1923... Mrs. Jane Smith lived at 417 Adams, but no Thomas. 1929... Mrs. Smith still at that address. No thomas at that address in that year either. 1937... Mary J. Smith at 417 Adams (listed self as a widow of T.E.) Also a J.W. Carson, laborer, is renting at this address 1939...Jack Carson is listed as the home owner at this address and Mary Jane Smith as the renter. Clayton is also living here 1951...Clayton E. Smith & wife Minnie here. Clayton Ernest Smith died in 1952 and is buried at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. ....that is what I have to share with you from my at-home resources. Now onward to the long "help wanted" list. BTW, it just interesting for you to enter the address of 417 Adams St, Elyria, at a map site such as MapQuest, so you can get a general idea on a map, as to where your Sarah Minard lived in 1907. Perhaps some of your family members are listed in the EHS directory that was just posted this past week. Both Nick & I urge you again, to be in touch with the LC Health Dept. to check on the deaths of Sarah, Thomas & Mary Jane Smith. Address at the Resources link, click on Lorgen webpage below my name. Please let the LC listers know how your research is progressing from time to time. Hopefully you will connect with someone. -- Nancy M.
