Thanks for your response, Shirley. It would be nice to know what home village information the Declaration of Intent might contain, but I was also looking for his date of arrival and his age. I have found his wife and younger children on a passenger list, but have been unable to locate him and his eldest son. Rumor has it that g-grandfather left Ireland because of a confrontation with a patrol of British soldiers. I would like to do some newspaper research regarding this incident, but I need to narrow down the time frame. It's nice to know that some of these records have survived. Jean
