Hi I am new to this list and I am interested in making contact with anyone who is also doing research on the Pippert surname in Lorain Co., OH. I am specifically interested in the townships of Amherst, Brownhelm & Henrietta where the descendants of Johann Justus Pippert settled. The family immigrated from Germany (Berneburg, Kurhessen, Prussia) in 1863 (George) & 1866 for Johann, wife Anna & his other two sons Conrad & Martin. They all appear to have settled initially in the Amherst area of Lorain Co. and stayed in that area up until at least the early 1900's. I have been able to trace the family up to 1920 using Census records and some additional records obtained from on-line sources and from the LDS films of Ohio records, but have many holes and questions left to answer. My immediate interest in addition to making contact with other researchers in the area is to obtain obituaries for some of the later members of the family to obtain clues to other family members born after 1920. The surnames of spouses were Hildebrand, Bauer, Schmuach, Dock, Holl Henning, Kline, Bishop, Engemann & Andress. If someone can help me with tracking down obituaries for the listed townships, I will provide the dates that I have for when they died. Thanks in Advance
