LC Researchers, Have been terribly wordy here today, but I promise this is my last post to this LC list til tomorrow. Wanted to tell you that if you know of anyone who is of Mexican or Puerto Rican descent and their family may have lived in LC at some time, there is much information to be had in the February 2001 revised edition of: THE EMERGENCE OF THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY IN LORAIN OHIO. It is 178 pages with many wonderful photos. Frank Jacinto, retired educator, local author and editor, gave a very interesting talk on this topic (in costume) the our most meeting of the Black River Historical Society. He and his group will give talks to any group within a reasonable distance. You can easily guess who kept him there answering questions long after his presentation. My copy of this book is a real treasure to me, cost was $25.00. Since I am so hard on books, I was just a bit disappointed that it was available only in a soft-cover. If you want more info to order a copy mailto:nmmeyers@centurytel.net and I will let you know who to contact. -- Nancy M. Meyers, Lorain OH
