The discussion on this issue has started to appear on a few other mail lists I subscribe to. Opinions have been varied, both for and against the removal of the indexes. I don't wish to get into the for and against discussion, but rather to point out, what IMHO, is the obvious. Especially since most of the opinions expressed to date on all lists, do not appear to come from residents of either CA or TX. If you are not a registered voter in the jurisdiction which is served by the elected official to whom you send your opinion on this issue, what ever you have to say will likely fall on deaf ears. The only possible argument which might make a difference is money. Will the revenue of the jurisdiction which issues the certificates, located by use of these indexes, be affected? If you are not a registered voter of the jurisdiction, then the people who you need to convince, be you for or against removal of the indexes, are the registered voters of the appropriate jurisdiction. At least if I were an elected official, the opinion of one voter in my jurisdiction would outweigh 100 plus, sent by people outside my jurisdiction. Donna ****************************** Donna J.
