Hi Roberta I believe we have corresponded in the past. I have both Hacketts and Daneys in my line, have found a census with the Daney children listed in an orphanage and have found them listed as living with my granny's Aunt from the Hackett side. Email me and we can talk some mor. Laura [email protected] bisforbooks <[email protected]> wrote: Hello everyone, I just subscribed to this list. I was advised by other geneological buffs that the people on this list know a great deal. My maternal great-grandmother died in Carlisle Twp. in 1899. There were a number of children. I have not located all of them and would like some information on Gore Orphanage. Does anyone know if it was in existience in 1899-1900? Would there be any records salvaged from there? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Roberta Chapin [email protected] ==== OHLORAIN Mailing List ==== Visit the Lorain County Genealogy page http://www.centurytel.net/lorgen
Hi Laura, It's wonderful to hear from you. I was going over our emails from 1999-2000. I remember your granny's aunt is Josephine Clayton, who is your granny? If your granny's aunt and my grandpa's aunt were both Josephine Clayton, and she was a sister of Mary Hackett Daney. Who were your granny's siblings? parents? Are they one and the same as mine? or was your granny's mother one of Mary Hackett's siblings child? Curious minds want to know ;+ ) I'm glad you're still active in the geneology mailing list. Since my husband died my life has had so many twists and turns I really wasn't able to keep up. I'm trying to cut back at work to four days just so I can spend more time on this project. I also found a buddy in my son's mother in law. She gave me access to Ancestry.com from her home. I had gone to LDS once (it's right down the street from me), but they seem to want to get things resolved even if the match might not be right. I did appreciate the access they have to all the databases though. This is such a fascinating endeavor, I hope to spend as much time as possible on it now. Don't get lost! I miss our emails exchanging info. Take care Roberta Chapin [email protected] LAURA HELLAND <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Roberta I believe we have corresponded in the past.
