MIND FEAST 2005: A GENEALOGICAL BUFFET FOR YOUR BRAIN The Oberlin African-American Genealogy and History Group will sponsor its 2nd full day genealogy seminar on Saturday, November 5, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This event is free but pre-registration is required. Registration forms may be obtained at the Oberlin Public Library or at the OAAGHG website (ttp://www.geocities.com/ oberlinaagenealogy/Programs.html). The program is open to all members of the public, but pre-registration is a must. Five scrumptious sessions have been prepared to satisfy even the most discriminating genealogy-lover’s palate: 1) Beginning Genealogy: Where Do I Start presented by Deborah Abbott, African-American Genealogical Society of Cleveland, Ohio; 2) Searching For Your Native American Ancestors presented by Barbara Birmelin, Nation’s Mother of East of The River Shawnee Nation, Mansfield, Ohio; 3) Whose Jubilee? The African-American Experience in Oberlin After the Civil War presented by Oberlin College History Professors, Carol Lasser and Gary Kornblith; 4) It’s A Needle In A Haystack: Slave Research with Deborah Abbott; and, 5) Researching Free Persons of Color (FPOC) . . . Who, When and Where presented by Art Thomas, African-American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley, Springfield, Ohio. Immediately following the program, an optional walking tour of Oberlin will be offered, weather permitting.
