    3. I have 4 old portraits, over a hundred years old. they are large about 18x24 inches on about 1/8 inch thick past board. The edges are starting to crumble and fall off. what can I do with them to preserve them? I have thought about giving them to The Hickerys but I am not sure they would want them. Ken

    3. Hi Kenneth, I am an Antique Dealer from Tawas City, Michigan. You can see my Web Site at: http://timeaftertimeantiqueshop.tripod.com Take the pictures to a Professional Picture Frame Shop. They will treat the edges and put them on Acid Free backings and then into a sealed picture frame. I didn't mean to but in to your e-mail conversation...but..I am also on the rootsweb e-mail chat. So I have a lot of e-mail's come to me through them. I really hope this e-mail does not offend. I had been looking for my ancestors and contacted rootsweb a year ago. The people were wonderful there and I found out a lot from them about my ancestors. I have an Indian Grandmother that I still can not find though...we found her obituary and grave but nothing to connect her to an Indian Linage. Of course, at that time the Iroquois was all but wiped out in a Massacre and the remaining ones went into hiding either with other tribes or married whites and passed themselves off as white or France, Italian, etc. decent. Her name was Estella Mildred (Ward) Schmidt (later changed to Smith). They lived in Amherst, Ohio and later Avon Lake, Ohio and Lorain, Ohio. If you happen upon anything I would appreciate anything. Wishing you the best in the New Year! Blessings, Estella If no one wants them I would love to have them. I am not related to any Hickeys but I do collect old pictures. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kenneth Gooden" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2005 2:20 PM Subject: [OHLORAIN] Old protraits > I have 4 old portraits, over a hundred years old. they are large about 18x24 inches on about 1/8 inch thick > past board.
