Lots of my mom's family worked in the quarrries in North Amherst (Now South Amherst) when they immigrated here in 1900 (right after the census). My great grandfather Ignatz Huja (Huya) and my grandfather Ignatius Huya worked in the quarries and I think my great grandfather's brothers worked in the quarries also. They came from Slovokia.
