In earlier LC days, some Catholics did not apply for a regular marriage license at the county level. They went thru their intention process by annoucncing their bans in church. Weddings that actually did take place in LC were then supposed to be recorded at the county level, some were not. Consider also folks who lived in Avon area, may have crossed the county line to wed for privacy or other reasons. Two of my husbands oldest uncles who were married in a Catholic church in Lorain, never applied for a regular license. Just another fly in the ointment. Nancy
