Hi List, I am hoping someone out there can help me. I have two long questions... Does any one on this list ever remember hearing about a wedding that took place in Harry H. Smith store window in Elyria, July 4, 1910? I would like to find out maybe who the little flower girl was, it was the wedding of my grandparents. I am putting together a story of the wedding. I pretty much know all that happened, but it was stated that the little flower girls name has long been forgotten. Perhaps some one out there recalls their mother telling the story of being that little girl? It was really quit the day for Elyria in 1910. Now then, my mother was married in the window of the Smith and Gerhart Co. store room window, July 11, 1942. She was referred to as a, "War Stamp Bride" I have some of the story on that wedding, but what I really want to know is was there a contest for being chosen, to be the war Stamp Bride? How was Irene Ketchum chosen? My mother for some reason never told me about this, if she did I was at the age that I did not care. Now that she is gone, I would love to be able to ask her. Isn't hindsight great? I have gone to the Lorain and Elyria Libraries and researched both weddings till I can't see straight. I hope some one out there can help me. Thanks, Penny
