Family history has that George William Loghry married Nancy Jane Axtel in Lorain County Ohio on November 12, 1833, although I have no documentation of this fact. I have documentation--Deeds Book 24, pages 315-16, in Steuben County, New York, which is an indenture made on the 24th day of June 1835 between "George Loghry and Nancy Jane his wife of the town of Russia County of Lorain and State of Ohio." I also have undocumented information that they had a daughter born in Ohio in 1836. George Loghry and Nancy Jane Axtel were indeed married in Lorain County November 12, 1833 according to the book "Marriages Lorain County, Ohio 1824-1865" which was compiled by the Elyria Chapter of the DAR and the Genealogical Workshop, Lorain County Historical Society. Early marriage records are on microfilm at the probate court starting in 1824. Sometimes they are interspersed with other information and can be difficult to find at times. Birth records did not start until 1867, well after 1836. If George Loghry died in Lorain County their might possibly be a will or estate papers listing heirs. Wills and estates were recorded as early as 1824, also.
