Thanks Bob. I was going to use the plastic spiral too, and go to Kinkos to do it. I will use a better paper quality too. (Sande quest) Not a direct answer but hope this helps. I had some "Chronicles" made with photos, cards, etc. Cost for BW was the same as for color since BW photos have other colors like blue and yellow. Had the chronicle on my CD. The printer worked from my CD of the history. It came out GREAT, almost the quality of the original work. The local printer had a laser machine and he used the best paper he had available at the time - don't recall if it was rag or wood fiber. It wasn't the real heavy glossy photo paper. Also used a plastic spiral to bind the sheets. Been over five years ago and the cost was about $1.00 per page. Bob ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Sande, When you print your book be sure and use Bond paper for lasting qualities. There are places that offer different percentages of rag pulp in the paper. 25% - 50% - 75% & 100%. Wood pulp paper does not last as long as rag pulp paper. I worked at the Government Printing Office in DC for 38 years and we used Bond paper for the Library of Congress jobs. One of the trees that will be in there is of E Collier Adams and Carrie (Hemenway) Adams who are both buried in Lorain. However, the book will be called "The Barrett Memoirs and Genealogy." Hi all, I've just joined this list after finding some family connections listed on the World Tree site. Unfortunately the information seems to have been taken from the Worldconnect site with the submitter given as unknown, so I'm hoping someone on the list might recognise the details. William LESLIE was born in 1871 Dundee, the son of William LESLIE and Margaret LAMOND. He had two children, William Cairns LESLIE and Jessie LESLIE, both born in Lorain Ohio. Not much to go on, I know - love to hear from any connections. Regards Jan Queensland Australia
Hi Sande: Do you have any idea as to when he lived and worked there? I know my aunt and uncles lived there from about 1904 to 1921 or so........I wish I could remember (senior moment) where I got those records. It seems like it was from an office in College Park, Maryland, but don't know if that's where the NARA is at or what, but will most certainly find out for you. I do remember that it took quite a while and some paperwork, which I found on line. Maybe if you go to the NARA website and check the available forms that you can print out, it would help. If not, maybe it will tell you where to send for the forms, as I do remember that they were in triplicate, at least. Darn! I wish I had a better memory about it, but I have sent for SO many records that I have a blank right now. I know that I begged and pleaded for leads as to how to get them on the Panama list and other lists, and got some answers, but they weren't the ones I needed. And so it goes........ On Sunday, March 11, 2007, the Medina County Chapter will present "A Trip to Ireland" presented by Jean Copeland, Pam Rihel and Judy Wilson. Jean, Pam and Judy went to Ireland on a search for family records and to meet family members still living in Ireland. They will talk about the preparation for their trip and the success they had. This is a great program for anyone with Irish roots - or even those of us without! The meeting will be held at the Inn at Medina, 100 High Point Dr., Medina, OH at 2 pm. A short business meeting will follow the presentation. HI, I have been following this thread. I have never sent for service records. How would I go about doing that for my father's records. He was in the navy during WWII. He did stay in after the war. He was honorably discharged and has since passed away. Would appreciate any help in this. Jane

This could be them, except for their ages. In 1900 William / Wilhelm Schmidt / Smith is born March 1866, and wife born August 1863. This couple in Elmwood could be HIS parents, as the Wilhelm born about 1846 (if 58 in 1904) would have been 20 when he was born, and his wife is shown on the census to be a tad bit older than him. He could have simply married a woman also named Augusta. These folks in Elmwood must be an older couple, as Augusta C. Schmidt born 1863 is still on the census in 1910 and 1920...same kids in 1910..son John in HH in 1920 with her..In 1900 and 1910 they had two daughters, Clara born about 1890 and Florence born about 1892. Do you have info on the Florenc / Florence Schmidt who died January 14, 1914? Tony at Calvary Cemetery said they had her listed over there..I don't have an age. If she was listed as about 20 - 22, that's probably one of the daughters who disappears after 1910. The other daughter, Clara, MAY HAVE married Charles W. Kuntz / Huntz, according to what someone else sent me. Charles was in HH of a Charles E. Kuntz who was very close by to the Schmidt's in 1900..... It's beginning to look like this family has died out totally by 1930...Guess me and my two boys are the only ones out of this family even left.... I'm also going to try to find a John and Matilda Smith on the 1900 census...the closest Smith to my grandfather they've found in Lorain was a William Earl Smith, born October 24, 1889... Hello Sande: Hope you don't mind my butting in, but I had a great uncle who worked for the railroad in the Canal Zone. He and my great-aunt lived there for many years. I had a heck of a time getting his records, but finally got them (for a small fortune). 135 pages of delightful and sometimes distressful reading. Thanks,Will" Will, If you visit the Catholic Diocese Cleveland, OH, website, you'll find that individual parishes kept their own records, and those records are still in the parish today. I've done a lot of this research myself, having many catholic ancestors, and would be glad to help if you want to contact me off-list. Do you have any idea of the Church's name? Is anyone familiar with a source called Record of Marriages, Vol. 4? Where would that be located? I am looking for a marriage performed in 1864 by J.H. Faxon, J.P. Thanks, Cheryl Bakker Crystal River, FL
Mary, Have no church related info on these folks but found an abstracted note from the Lorain County News: Asa Hamilton, of Wellington, died from injuries in a fall. He was 67 years old, buried on April 8, 1866 in Wellington's Greenwood Cemetery. He was said to be one of the earliest settlers in the area. There is an Eliza Hamilton buried next to him with no dates. --- MARYSCOTT389@aol.com wrote: > Hi Nancy, > > I am looking for Eli, his wife Avis and his son Asa > Hamilton that lived in > Wellington, Ohio in the 1820 & 1830's. Perhaps this couple buried in the Elmwood Cemetery of Lorain OH are the ones you seek? Wilhelm Schmidt b Germany died at age 58, was buried on Nov. 23, 1904 in lot 17,sect.E, map page 2. In the same lot is an Mrs. Augusta Schmidt, born Germany, died at age 63, was buried on Dec. 3, 1903. These two death certificates would be at the Lorain County Health Dept. on Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria. Hope this helps. Will be offline for a time, getting more shoulder surgery. Nancy M.
