Dear Listers: Be careful about low-cost Family Tree 2006 Deluxe offers. I purchased one for $17.95 from an Ohio dealer identified on this list-serve. I had nothing but problems installing the disk. After numerous, lengthy e-mails with the vendor to resolve the installation problems, the vendor finally concluded there was a irremediable installation problem and issued a Return Merchandise Authorization. Sadly, I was never able successfully install FTM 2006 Deluxe to begin constructing my family tree. The deal was too good to be true. Hi.. I just purchased a copy of Family Tree Maker 2006 Deluxe (Ebay, $18). I phoned Ancestry.com and learned some interesting (not to mention valuable) info. Did you know: They told me I can install my disc on as many computers as I care to...no limit. and, most interesting..Each copy comes with a full years use of Ancestry.com (US only) for two persons...ie two can log on using the same username and password. (However, if a 3rd person logs on, they lock you out and you have to call Ancestry to have everything reset)..So, it woud appear that we could buddy-up with a researcher in our own town or online and save some real cash, since a\the US version allegedly sells for $155 without the software purchase Shirley in San Diego

Karen, Emailed you an obit offline from the PD. Nancy
I am in dire need of assistance. This past Sunday a woman whose last name is Hainline died in Lorain County. Crazy as this sounds I need to know where her funeral is being held - She died this past Sunday, her funeral should be in the next day or so. My husband volunteers with an organization here in the Detroit metro area and one of its members is the son of the Hainline woman. We would like to send flowers but he left so abruptly that we didn't get a chance to get any funeral details. Can anyone help me with this? The sooner I can get this info the better. With my daughter getting married this weekend, I have errands to run but will be back later to check the email to try and hopefully find the info that I am seeking. I know its crazy - but so is life. ANY help appreciated. Karen (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan)
Deb: I didn't get to the cemeteries when I was in Cinci back in September but I did go today as I was back in town. Took a little more than 3 hrs from downtown Cinci which wasn't too bad and I had a GPS with me which made it go quicker. I mapped out the addresses with Yahoo Maps and the GPS and I got to each great although Rugby I ended up using the Yahoo Map directions. I stopped at the Walmart in Oberlin and got some lunch at Subway, a few US flags, and some potted flowers. One of the nice ladies at the Oberlin offices that assists with the cemetery sent me a picture of one of the gravestones as well as the section #'s for two sets of relatives in Westwood. I also used the map that you sent me. I still had a hard time finding the gravestones and ended up asking for help from the caretakers (found Miles Standish Bassetts on my own while I was standing with the caretaker and he even remebered taking the picture. I also noticed that his daughter is buried next to him - Kate S. Bassett Weeks). I set the flowers and flags and headed off to Evergreen Cemetery. I had a picture of the gravestone which was a rather large monument and I knew he served in the RW so I looked for flags. It still took me about 30 minutes of driving around to find it. Very quiet and peaceful here. I laid the flowers and flags and headed off to North Ridge Cemetery. I was a little scared after it took so long to find the gravestones at the other two cemeteries but I found this one almost immediately after entering the cemetery. I laid the flowers and flag and headed to Rugby Cemetery. Smaller cemetery and I again had a picture so I knew what to look for. I laid the flowers and flag and headed back to Cinci. I just wish I had more time to tour the area. Wanted to go to Elyria but missed it. It was nice to drive through Russia and Brownhelm Twnshps which are areas mentioned in the obits of my relatives. Hello Fellow list members: My address has changed it will be gravelady28@yahoo.com. Formally cpp40532@centurytel.net. Thank You Diane Wargo Medina Charleston Cemetery Lorain.
Thank you, Jean, That is a wonderful link. While on the web site, I was able to find other links, that kept me out of trouble for several hours. Patricia ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Thanks for the information, Sue. I suspected that "Ind" meant Independent, but I was unaware that the Lorain Telephone Co. serviced the Brownhelm/Vermilion area. Jean ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Jean, Brownhelm, Vermilion, etc was served by the Lorain Telephone Co, an *independent *company, locally owned by the Hagemans.
