    3. Hi List - I've gotten 3 e-mails with attachments in the past 24 hours in which the return e-mail addresses were those of three individuals on our list and on the subject line referenced the Lorain County Mail List. Each of the attachments had a different title. For all new subscribers, attachments will NEVER come through the mail-list. When you click on that e-mail, a prompt appears to ask you to open the attachment. Hit cancel and DELETE THE E-MAIL. Empty your deleted e-mail folder and see if it is further stored elsewhere in your hard drive (Under Find Files with that date) and delete it from there as well. Gail, Ohio

    2. Jane Hoholski
    3. HI Deb, I think I found the poem you were talking about. Hope this is it! Jane Hoholski How Do You Live Your Dash I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. (1934-1998) For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth... And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; The cars...the house...the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile... Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash? Author Unknown.

    3. BlankGreetings fellow genealogy researchers! I'm looking for a copy of the poem "The Dash". It's about how one spends their "dash" - the time between between birth and death. Would like to use the poem in a speech this week. This poem was forwarded to many genealogy mailing lists within the past couple of years. Thanks, Deb

    3. Jim, In the book, "Pinoneer History of Camden Township" by F.E. Weeks, there is a one liner about Manning Ware: "Lived here in 1875. A daughter married Charles Irish." (page 80) If you look up Charles Irish, it states: "A blacksmith, born in 1824, died in 1894, married a daughter of Manning Ware, of Camden, but they were divorced when the children were small. The wife, Jane M., married a Dale and died in 1894, born in 1839. A son Charles Irish, lived in Lorain, Ohio." (page 52) There were no entries for Dale... Hope that helps! Were there lots of folks making this same migration in same period, and, if so, what was the motivating factor? if you think that gentleman caould shed some light on that, I'd appreciate his address, too. 3. Hi Farnsworth researchers, Thank you for your responses to my query. Did any of you know Merton (Bud) Farnsworth who would be around 88 years-old if he is still alive? My 86-year-old mother, Donna Dague Martin BeVier, was unofficially engaged to him before she met my father and before Bud met the woman he married. Bud was a vice president in the South American division of Coca Cola. I would like to be able to tell my mother a little about his life if any of you might know. 1. RE: [OHLORAIN] Sourcing Questions
    2. Karen Krugman
    3. Recently I bought a great book called, "EVIDENCE". I have been researching for quite a few years and as the time has passed the importance of sourcing continues to impress itself upon me. I have always sourced my materials, so that is not the problem. This book has encouraged me to take my sourcing up a level or two, by better defining my sources. This will take some doing. BUT it is happening. My two questions have to do with Lorain County and the ancestors that my husband Mark's family has there. I find them noted in TWO publications, one being the Elyrian which from what I have here is the Elyria High School year book. Can someone who is familiar with that publication tell me publication details? Does anyone have any other helpful information on that? The ones I am interested in would be primarily 1924/5 and before. The other item from Elyria that I am hoping for assistance with would be the city directories. I have the information from the listings that I need, but the sourcing on them is really scarce. Can anyone tell me who the publisher/compiler of the city directories was? Was it done by a private company and if so who? I want to make the source as complete as possible. AND last I HIGHLY recommend this book EVIDENCE if you are seeking guidance on your sourcing! Very user friendly! Thanks in advance for anyone who might be able to answer these questions for me. Regards, Karen Krugman Michigan
