    1. [OHLORAIN] Time
    2. The following is my reply to someone regarding the story on time. We had already established it had happened twice in the past, at least, and at least two more times to come in our future. Someone asked about Dec 21, 1921 and this was my reply. **** 1991 won't work because the seconds on the clock stop at 59 and no month or day of the month is 91. but 9:01a.m. on 9th of Jan (9/01) in the year 901 (AD or BC) would work out as 09:01 09/01, 0901 Actually that could repeat thru 09:12, 09/12, 0912 There are actually probably hundreds more, as you go through 10th, 11th, 12th hours and so on. Well, it was fun anyway and seemed at first look to work! Sharon

    1. [OHLORAIN] Valentine Stories
    2. Many thanks to Hart, Tom Powell, and Nancy for sharing such heartwarming stories. The Lorain County list is by far my most favorite genealogy mail list because of the warmth and generosity of people like you. I have learned so very much here from you veterans, the Depression survivors, the lifelong Lorain county natives, and so many others who share their stories with us. Many of you lived the History that our ancestors lived and by sharing it you make our own family histories come alive too. Thank you all for adding some knowledge and so many bright spots along the way. It truly is an act of kindness to go that step beyond the norm! I look forward to more personal histories on a variety of subjects. Thanks to our webmaster for allowing people to expand the subject matter. Regards, Jean Copeland

    2. NM Meyers
    3. Thanks Tom for sharing your love story. BTW, my late father-in-law stood 6'3", a big boned and very strong man whose name was Francis Valentine Applebee. His birthday was Feb. 14th. He had bright red hair. One evening he went to a square dance with some friends (on a Feb. 14th) sort of looking for trouble and daring anyone to make fun of his name. The fellows did not, but he did meet a very cute Finnish girl, just 5'1" tall who did tease him about his feminine sounding name, and he married her! -- Nancy M. Meyers, Lorain OH

I met my future wife on Easter Sunday at a little church in Blair, Nebraska. We started going together in 1933 and she died in 1993 so we were married 54 years, but were together for 60 years. I was only 17 when I met my future wife, but I already knew that she was the one for me and the only thing I had to consider was did she feel the same way about me. Turned out she did. I highly recommend the state of marriage when you have two people that love each other. Tom Powell
