    3. Sylvia, Yes, Greenhoe is still there. I stopped there a few years back to check it out. It's on the north side of Neff Rd at the point where Neff Rd jogs at the Lorain and Medina Co lines. Many of our roads out here curve or jog where one township changes to another. Erhart Rd runs north and south, dead ending at the cemetery. According to my 2001 street atlas, it's called Greenhoe-Erhart Cem. and looks to be about 25% in Lorain Co and the rest in Medina County. Gayle Hi Sylvia... I think Greenhoe is still there. Tho I've never visited. However, it is most likely listed under Litchfield or York in Medina County. Erhart doesn't have an identity of its own. Re Columbia and Columbia Station, I believe they're the same place. For inquires concerning Erhart, why don't you send an email to my Cousin Tom Neymeyer in Milan. He grew up in Erhart and still owns property there. He's a Neff descendant too. his email is JTN580@aol.com Shirley ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 3. Shirley, I printed it out to put with my family history. Are you sure,Cuz, that Greenhoe Cemetery where my Great Great Grandfather Anthony Neff was buried, didn't fade away in the mist somehow also? I was down there in 1982 or 1983 and saw it on Neff Road on the corner but I cannot seem to find it in Medina County Cemeteries. Do you or you,Nancy know where that small cemetery went to? 3. Nancy, do you mean that in 1812 that Ridgeville, and Columbia Township were in Cuyahoga County? Does that include Columbia Station also? Where was the house across from Evergreen Cemetery where the Mason Hall is now? Was there even a house there? 1. Re: [OHLORAIN] Going crazy!
    2. Nancy, I have encountered the same problem. It took me two years to prove someone had placed another Solomon instead of my great grandfather, with his parents. Finally death certificates and baptismal certificates on both cousins Isolved it but the incorrect information remains out there. So I have decided: 1. not to share except with two close cousins collaborating on same work-we all agree not to share with people researching collateral lines. When we finally are sure we have documented well enough we will publish. 2. To always put sources of my info in my tree-I was a little lazy about this in the beginning and now regret it as I am not sure of where I got some info. It is difficult to say no to some who request but I simply indicate we are not sure of all the data yet and are only sharing in this tight circle for time being. 3. While I can't get others who have put incorrect info on their websites and other sites to correct this and many other erros, I have resigned myself to the fact that when our document is posted others researching the lines will check all sources. We are really operating as historians and we should abide by accepted methods of documentation. Mary Boehnlein

    3. Nancy, I recently found an entire line of my own posted on Ancestry. I also found entire portions of my book, WORD FOR WORD posted on Ancestry. It is frustrating when you ask others NOT to do what you mention or what I have mentioned. There seems to be NO END to the "CLICK & CLAIM" mentality that seems to dominate the internet. I have stopped sharing gedcoms. I know that sounds stingy, BUT given the circumstances, no sharing of source citations or credit given where credit is due, I only provide a family group sheet of the family in question. Gedcoms are just TOO easy to dump in the program and share. If they want my info, they will have to work for it. Sign me stingy if you want, but I really see no other way of dealing with this problem. One group sheet with sources, printed out on paper. I won't make it easy for anyone. Also, If I can help it, I give out nothing that isn't proven. They don't seem to care or notice anyway. These people are NOT genealogists they are simply name collectors. So, sign me stingy in Michigan! Alas, that request falls seems to fall on deaf ears. They simply enter the info into their programs and then make and forward a gedcom along to many others. 3. Hi Nancy, What you have described is my pet peeve. I've had the same problem with sharing my info and finding it posted with errors. I have a new policy on sharing-when I list vitals, I just list the year and cite my source. If they want the month and date, they have to go to the source themselves-which is what they should be doing anyway. : ) Yolanda (Campbell) Lifter Malabar, FL http://www.ohiofamilyresearch.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "NM Meyers" <nmmeyers@centurytel.net> To: <OHLORAIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 1:18 PM Subject: [OHLORAIN] Going crazy! > Every day I find more and more of the research that I have done on my > family lines posted on the "net" somewhere, and often reproduced with > errors. If either of his parents had out-lived him, then Herman's city of residence maybe mentioned in the estate/will papers. I am sure he never married Herman Boyer born Septmeber 19, 1889 Clyde, Ohio. He was living in Elyria at the time of the crime, I found 3 articles in the "Elyria Evening Telegram". Where can you search for inmates? Any help would be greatly appricated..... Penny Hi Penny, I have found that the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus owns a lot of the the prision records from that time period. I would suggest contacting them. They sent me information on on of my relatives that was in prision in Columbus which included a funny/interesting study of his facial features and how they felt that a certain nose lenght or ear shape made someone more likely to be a criminal. It also gave information about his relatives. 1. [OHLORAIN] reporting on the Brighton History night
    2. NM Meyers
    3. LC Researchers, Wished you could have been there last Friday. The evening started with an old fashioned church supper at the historic Brighton Congregational Church. The meal was served in the social hall of the converted church basement. Saw many familiar faces there. With our appetites more than tummies satisfied, we were then directed up to the sanctuary for the program. This was NOT your average 30-40 minute program folks. The building was filled to capacity and the crowd was treated to a wonderful production that lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes. The program was entitled BRIGHTON: THE SPIRIT CONTINUES It was a very entertaining, educational and delightful overview of approximately 175 years of Brighton Township history, along with some bio bits of info on the BAIRD, GILLETTE, GOSS, GREENE, KINGSBURY, LOVELAND, STOCKING and other families. We were treated to period background music, slides and audio incorporated into a Power Point presentation. There was also some live period music on a piano, with a rinky-tink flavor and the famous Hugh MOSHER, a model for the Spirit of 76 painting by Archibald WILLARD, was playing the fife (actually was the local Tim Simonson). Volunteers wore period costumes, there were many photos and other displays were on exhibit. The audience also joined in on some old fashioned hymns. After the "production", we returned to the lower level of the building for dessert of home pies, of all sorts, ice cream, coffee, punch & juices. After dessert, it was time for all the uncut pies to be offered at auction, just like folks did in the times of your grandparents. Our own Bonnie Brennan did a great job of keeping that auction running, and trust me, there was hospitality a plenty. Proceeds of the evening went to the building fund for the Church. This entire event was conceived, written, produced, directed and narrated by a radiant and beaming Mrs. Cheryl EWELL HINES. She, naturally, is very proud of her Brighton Township roots. Between you, me and other genealogists, I was very impressed with the amount of research that Cheryl had to do to put this evening together. CONGRATULATIONS to Cheryl. Our Chapter Treasurer attended also and think he got to see some of his cousins from that area. BTW, here is a bit of trivia for you. Did you know that at one time, the largest ferret farm in the US was in Brighton Township? ------------------------------------------ Nancy M.
