    3. Hi Tom, You were so kind to respond to my question about death benefits and there is certainly no reason for you to apologize. You didn't know that the law had changed and that there was some confusion about it. Thank you again for your kindness. 3. Hello Everyone thanks for the quick response, now I will send for the certificate, but truly not sure if she is my great aunt, I found the holy card tucked away in my great grandmothers bible, if I can locate an obit that might help, that could give me clues, since I am of hungarian back ground, Tooth, Yuhasz, Hare Verge, Cargo are all tied in, my family kept secrets. Thanks a bunch. Diane Cargo Medina Lorain Ohio

    2. Boy! What happened to Federal laws about wheelchair/handicapped access laws? I chipped and cracked my pelvis bone in November -- and it STILL hurts to walk too far or sit too long -- what a crock about handicapped folks being abused so City workers can park inside. Oh, well, I thought I'd add my 2 cents. :-) Alice Lapp

    2. Diane, From the Death Certificate Index at the Ohio Historical Society: www.ohiohistory.org YUHASZ KATHERI County Name: CUYAHOGA Date of Death: 7/1/1936 Volume Number: 8185 Certificate Number: 42825 Go to the website and print the form to order the death certificate. It should give you the name of the cemetery where she is buried. Garfield is probably Garfield Hts and is about 7 miles south of Cleveland. It is still in Cuyahoga County. Hope this helps, Richelle Parma, OH

    3. Hi List members, have a question I have tried many sites to locate this relative, where she is buried, and what her obit said in regards to more family info. Her name was Katalin Yuhasz died July 1-1936 the funeral home was Cherosky & Sons 10106 Buckeye Rd Garfield 6500. I know that the funeral home does not exist no longer, this is her funeral card, and this is all that I know of her, have no clue where she is even buried, or where Garfield is located east of Cleveland???? Thanks a bunch Diane Wargo Medina Lorain, Ohio

    3. Hi Diane, 10106 Buckeye Rd. is in Cleveland, not far from Shaker Square. Garfield 6500 sounds like a phone number for the funeral home rather than the suburb, Garfield Hts. There used to be a Garfield exchange in Cleveland before they changed all the exchange names to numbers. 3. LC Researchers, There have been times, when the parking deck was being repaired and the parking spaces available were already full, and the streets were full, I had to park down on at the Washington Ave. parking lot, across the bridge, and walk. So......I just went to Elyria about 8:00 AM, had a much better chance of getting a parking spot. That will be more important as of April 15th. By the way, if you "brown bag" your lunch, there is a very nice park diagonally across from the Adm. Bldg. Street vendors are there in warmer weather too. In the past, on some Thursdays there have been live noon time concerts in the park, mostly popular type music by local musicians. The lower level of the Administration Bldg. also has food & beverages for sale and seating is available there. When it is raining, I eat my packed lunch there. If you have never been to the county seat before, try to team up with a local genealogist who knows their way around the building and knows the "system". -- Nancy M. 3. Thank you to all lists who clarified that the law was changed in 1994. I still cannot understand why they keep saying they do pay on an advertisement to selling insurance on TV. Wouldn't that be illegal ? 1. [OHLORAIN] obit
    2. I found an obit or sorts in the Medina paper of 1889. Tobias Koppelberger, an old resident of Medina Co., died at the resident of his son John in Amherst, Lorain Co last Thrusday Feb 11, 1889. He was well known in this locality. Now for the problem. Tobias is not listed in the Medina Co. Cemetery book and I don't see him in any of the Lorain Co. Cemeteries either. Where should I look for him? Where did someone say the name John and Alice Koppelberger was found? Ruth Ann

    3. Ruth Ann: My gr gr grandmother, Theresia KOLB Haury, is not listed in the tombstone book either. However, this week, list member Brian Cap found her 1901 obit in the Medina County Gazette. I'm assuming her tombstone at St. Martin's, was unreadable when the tombstone book was compiled. Does the notice list a funeral home? If so, contact them. If not, a mortician or funeral home should be listed on the death certificate. Shirley in San Diego ==== I found an obit or sorts in the Medina paper of 1889. 1. [OHLORAIN] advisory
    2. NM Meyers
    3. Fellow LC Researchers, Please be advised, as of April 15th 2002, that the public (you & I) will no longer be permitted to park in the covered parking deck that is attached to the Lorain County Administration Building in downtown Elyria. Only certain employees will be allowed to park there. So if you want to research wills, deeds, births, deaths, marriages, etc. be prepared to park and walk a distance, whether you use a cane or wheelchair, or even if the weather is inclement. So bring your parking meter coins and umbrella. It was explained to me today, that this will probably be in effect for at least three years or longer. I would rather have paid the .50 per hour parking fee than have to walk. Listen to me grumble :-( At least these are still public records! :-) -- Nancy M.
