Seeking information on ggggrandmother Irena/Irene (b abt 1825) Edwards and her family. I've been told she and gggrandfather George Smiley married in Lorain Oh. abt 1840. Her family may have been from NY. Found them on an 1850 census, unable to locate 1860. Grateful for any clues. Viola
Hello, I just wanted you to know that because of the information you sent me on Claubaugh, I was able to go directly to the grave. Took some photo's of the headstone. I appreciate it this so very very much. Don't you just love it when everyone works together and a plan falls into place? If I can do anything to return the favor please let me know. Norma/Ohio

I want to thank all of you for your information. I will certainly check out the Black River Historical Society. Have been down with pneumonia this last week and don't get to check my e-mail that often. Thanks to you all. Hi All, I am forwarding this with the permission of the writer. This is a poem written by someone on a couple of the WV lists that I am on. The writer's name is Causby Marshall Happy Thanksgiving to All. Jane The pilgrims came across the sea and never thought about you and me yet its very strange the way how we think of them Thanksgiving Day We tell the story old and true of how they sailed across the blue and built their homes close to the sea to worship God as they pleased As a genealogist old or new we look for facts to prove when our forefathers sailed the blue and where they landed to start anew we search the records of births and deaths, marriages, census, taxes and all the news, Just to prove who belongs to you I'm thankful for all the work that was done since they came ashore For my freedom and so much more I thank you Veterans who gave so much And my forefathers whom I research I'm glad this land is still free And for God who watches over you and me. Happy Thanksgiving Pray for our soldiers and our Country Causby Marshall
Thanks I will try that. When I wrote they were old, I really meant to say they out there and the typo looked pretty bad. Pam, I keep watch on e-bay. I am looking for a 1950 one myself. Estate sale/yard sales are good for those years too. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pamela Rihel" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 2004 5:32 PM Subject: [OHLORAIN] 1951 Scimitar Year Book January >I am hoping someone out there can help me locate a 1951 Scimitar Year Book >with January in it. Pam & Joyce. The link works fine, but you need to copy and paste the whole thing into your browser. All the way through the word title. Please take the time to do so, it is a TERRIFIC site. Doris in Florida

List Members: This came to me via another mailing list I am on. I wanted to share it with the rest of you. Margaret ======= Open Access to NEHGS' Register Thanksgiving Weekend "A Feast of Ancestors! Enjoy Free Access to the Register Online Over Thanksgiving Weekend! NEHGS is pleased to offer free access to its New England Historical and Genealogical Register database on NewEnglandAncestors.org over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! Normally only available to NEHGS members, the Register database will be accessible to everyone from Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, November 28, 2004. We encourage all NEHGS members to spread the word about this offering, and we hope that those of you who are not members find a veritable feast of ancestors in the Register database! Published quarterly since 1847, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register is the flagship journal of American genealogy and the oldest journal in the field. The online database includes issues from 1847 to 1994. The Register has featured articles on a wide variety of topics since its inception, including vital records, church records, tax records, land and probate records, cemetery transcriptions, obituaries, and historical essays. Authoritative compiled genealogies have been the centerpiece of the Register for more than 150 years. Thousands of New England families have been treated in the pages of the journal and many more are referenced in incidental ways throughout. The articles in the Register range from short pieces correcting errors in print or solving unusual problems to larger treatments that reveal family origins or present multiple generations of a family. Look for details on how to obtain free access to the Register in a special eNews bulletin to be sent out Wednesday, November 24. A link will also be available on that date on the home page of our website, www.NewEnglandAncestors.org."
The link works if you cut and paste the whole thing, rather than clicking. In the messages I got, it wrapped to the next line, and the second line wasn't clickable. I tried this web page and it doesn't come up to the scrapbook. Is there maybe something missing in the web address?
