In the county where I was raised, here in California, although records do not officially begin until 1905, there are various birth, marriage, death, property and other records that go back at least 20 years before that (although they are sketchy at times). So, I was wondering if it was possible, that although officially there are no birth and death records in Logan Co. before 1867, is it possible that some were recorded earlier? I am specifically trying to locate the following: SHEPHERD, Helena Ella, d/o William Shepherd and Rachel Caroline Austin Asher Shepherd b. 3 Aug 1855, E. Liberty Twp, Logan Co. Thanks for the help.
