    3. I've just finished indexing over 400 obits from Jan 1862 through April 1862 from The Religious Telescope. This weekly newspaper of the United Brethren Church is on microfilm beginning with the 1834 issues. The paper was first published in Circleville, Ohio (until 1855 or so) and then published in Dayton, Ohio. In 1862 it had a nationwide circulation of 14,500. The obits are not confined to those within the UB Church. There are obits for Lutherans, Society of Friends, Baptists, and even the unfaithful. The paper published almost as a "local" paper in the first 30 years or so. There is no index to the microfilms. Your local librarian should be able to help you find the names and sources of old newspapers on microfilm and should be able to help you obtain the one(s) you want to view (Inter Library Loan or ILL). ---Sue Stine On Wed, 17 Feb 1999 07:07:13 -0500 "Anna Williamson" <annaw@loganrec.com> writes: >>From a beginner, >Where would I look for copies of obits?
