    1. [OHLOGAN-L] Miller/Mohr and some other names
    2. Hello All, A while back I sent for some microfilm back-copies of the Bellefontaine Weekly Examiner. They arrived and I just spent 4 hours giving myself a headache looking thru them. ;o) I will try to make sense of what I found here. I am trying to find any info I can on my grandmother Helen Martha Miller and her parents William Miller and Jennie Mohr. The first thing I noticed were all the Townships. Gretna, DeGraff, Springhills, Bellecenter....etc. Here are the names I found and a bit of what the gossip articles mentioned about them. This could get wordy! MOHR MISS JENNIE MOHR was mentioned in Gretna most often but was referred to as being in Bloomcentre also. She went to DeGraff to take a course in dressmaking. (1888) She spent some time in Springhills to visit relatives. This is the confusing part and I can only assume right now that either AJ died or she divorced him...Married AJ DETRICK in 1889. They had a son in Sept of 1890. BUT...she is still mentioned as MISS Jennie Mohr in articles appearing after these dates. She did alot of visiting! GRANT MOHR...he too visited Springhills. According to the articles he owned a gas well farm...(Nov 30th 1888) Then in Feb of 89 he rented a farm of JOHN MOORE and CHARLEY MOHR and "will move on his gas farm in the summer". MISS IDA MOHR left last Thursday for a few months to visit friends and relatives near Sheldon, Ill. (Feb. 1889) FREDERICK MOHR of DeGraff was here...(Gretna) CHARLES MOHR, son of FREDERICK MOHR married OTTIE BRENNER 2-12-89 Some names of those in attendance: CLAIR MOHR, EMMA MOHR and ELMER MILLER. I am thinking Frederick is Jennies father. MRS HARRIET MOHR....was visited by MRS MOLLIE MILLER of Sweetser, Ind and MRS W.E. MOHR of DeGraff. In March of 89 Harriet moved her family...doesnt say where. Is she Fredericks wife? If so she would be Jennies mother.... S EDGAR MOHR proud father of a baby girl 8-3-1889 DAN MOHR MRS. BARBARA MOHR WILL MOHR MILLER WH MILLER took in the rally at DeGraff last night. (1888) MR & MRS C.A. MILLER son Christmas morning 1888 MRS AMOS MILLER is visiting near Warsaw, Ind. with MRS E. MILLER who is desperately sick. MR E MILLER is a brother of the local MILLER brothers. NOAH MILLER near Lewiston MRS S.H. MILLER of Detroit Street. MISS BELLE MILLER...was a teacher at Dickenson School. SAMUEL MILLER CHARLES MILLER Esq. Could have been C.A. MILLER (?) ALBERT MILLER... A.L. MILLER (?) ISAAC MILLER Bought Zearing & Company...a Merchant Tailor shop HENRY MILLER MRS ANNE MILLER of DeGraff visited JOHN KERRS SAMUEL WAGONER appears to have been a good friend of the MILLER boys. The DETRICK's were friends of the MILLERS and MOHR's as they all seem to have done things together &/or visited each other alot. Most of these names were just mentioned as having "moved cattle" or "visited" or "was here" etc... Anything ring a bell with anyone out there? Maggie MacNeill Maggie1178@aol.com
