Dear Subscribers: I recently ran across the following information pertaining to my ancestor, Major Hancock: "united with the Christian Church in October 1816, at Muddy Run, one mile west of West Liberty". Apprently this church was still in existance as of 1879 because I also found the following: "Major Hancock left with N. Summerbell a note for $500, to be paid to the charities of the Christian Church". Does anyone have any information on this Church?
