Someone sent me an item from the Ohio 1850 census index: Lambert, Jane Russle Park pg., 475 No county was given so I'm hoping it was actually Russells Point in Logan Co OH. Anyone able to look up this item for me? I would really appreciate it. I'm searching for a Jane Lambert b 1785 PA d 1864 IA who was previously married to John Neeley. Her maiden name was probably either Kaiser (Kiser, Keyser) or Walmsley. Anyone working on those names? Thanks! Adele
I have been searching for my mother-in-laws sister for a while. Her name at birth was Caroline Sue Predmore. dob 8/2/45. She was adopted on March 17,195?(3). The father who adopted her was Rhunhard Rain. I am not sure if the spelling is correct, it was read to me over the phone. I have also received information that she was examined by Dr. Wolfgang Zeman, at Columbus Psychiatric Institute and Hospital, although I am unable to locate this place on the internet or address wise. This letter was written in request for family medical history to the Children's Home in Logan County. Medical history has shown that the family, many members, have a disease called Friedreich's Disease. This disease affects the limbs to paralysis and in some mental disorders. I am pretty sure she was showing signs of this, hence the reason for the exam at the Psych Hospital. The exam was in June of 1958. Other family names I am interested in is: Predmore, Fields, Tuttle, Simpkins, Moore. These surnames were used in Logan Co. during the early 1930's. Fields is the last name of the oldest child adopted. Her name is Elsie Viola Predmore, but court records show Janet Predmore Fields. Thank you all for any information on the above. Since I am in California, it is hard to come to Ohio and search for this stuff. I am sure that the courthouse would have records of the adoption or atleast the placement in the childrens home. There were 11 children placed in foster care in 1948. Again, thank you and God Bless!!!
My great-grandfather Henry Harrison Staub was also a member of the 132nd Ohio Infantry. I found some history of this unit at: http://www.infinet.com/~lstevens/a/cw132.html They were mustered in at Camp Chase, Ohio, on May 14-15, 1864 as an Ohio national guard unit, did guard duty at the White House around May and June. Had picket duty at the Bermuda Hundred with the Army of the James (Henry Harrison Staub described laying in the swampy mud for hours at a time here, resulting in lots of sick soldiers) Mustered out September 10, 1864.

Someone recently asked about Oak Ridge School in Logan County, Oh. I have just now found some information about it. It is a souvenir program from a reunion in 1900 and lists all the teachers and students since 1839. Edith Logan County Genealogical Society
I'm hoping all you experts out there can instruct me as to researching the civil war records of a newly discovered relative. This is what I have: his name was John F. Thompson, and his obituary states that he served in CO F., 132d Ohio Volunteer Infantry. How do I translate this into regiment, division, battalion, etc? John F Thompson was born August 1 1838 near Harper, and died 21 May 1917 in Bellefontaine. His sister, Jennie Elizabeth, was my grandmother, and since her parents either died before she was 10 or abandoned her, I'm hoping to trace them through brother John's records. Apparently these two Thompsons were somehow related to the Shoots family in Logan Co also. All help appreciated, Marcia Wellman MacMullan
Searching for roots of these surnames in Ohio. Ronan, McMorrow and McGourty. Any clues appreciated. Margaret

Am researching ELLINGER family from Rock Bridge, Ohio. My grandmother Margaret ELLINGER was born June 25, 1900 in Good Hopes Twp. I have no info on her family except her father's name was Clyde. Any info anyone has on this family would be appreciated.
Would anyone know where the McKinnon cemetery is located? It has also been called the Springate Cemetery. Supposedly it is located two tenths of a mile south of State Route 720 and a quarter mile east of County Road 17, just east of Sante Fe. I was driving around that area last week and didn't see anything from the road. I'm assuming the cemetery is on private property and probably neglected. Does anyone know where the cemetery might be, or know on whose property it is located? Thanks, Greg Line gline@glasscity.net www.glasscity.net/users/gline
I know my great great grandmother is buried in DeGraff cemetery. According to her obit. She lived with her daughter in Pemberton at the time. My great great grandfather Thomas Bradford died around 1877. I cannot find an obit or death record in Shelby or Logan Co. I am almost sure he is buried with his wife in DeGraff cemetery. I recently found out that DeGraff had a newspaper from 1876-1899. It was called DeGraff Buckeye/Canteen. Has anyone ever researched this newspaper or even heard of it. Wright St. Univ. is suppose to have a copy. I really think his obit may be in that newspaper. Don Shafer 3015 Frampton Dr. Toledo Ohio 43614-5424
Can anyone tell me or possibly do a look up on the following: I need the 1830 census for Shawnee Indians living in LEWISTOWN. They were there until 1833 when they were removed by the government. I specifically need info on a JOHN YOUNG who apparently was indian (or a white living with the indians) at that time. He had a son, wife, and brother, I believe. He was the only one in the tribe with a "white" name. All others were listed as indian names. The Indian Removal documents list these people as selling their posessions and land to the govt before they moved. I need more info on this JOHN YOUNG as I think he may have been my ggg-grandfather. Thanks in advance for any help! Nancy Orlando
I am researching the Loffer Family. My grandfather was Oliver C. Loffer b.10/16/1881, d.3/27/1954. His father was David Loffer and mother was Elora Apple Loffer. Oliver Loffer married Maude V. Wilkins, date unknown. They lived on a farm in Champaign County until he retired in 1951. Any information on Oliver's ancestors greatly appreciated. Kay Reismaui@concentric.net
Trying to locate a person who was at the Home for Aged, Bellefonte, Ohio in 1950. Her name was Martha Warzynski Pisiecki Galick. My information is from a note made by an ancestor and it may have been Bellefontaine. Can some kind person tell me if there is or was such a home and if any records are available? I would appreciate any suggestions as I am at the proverbial "brick wall" on this one. Nancy Long, Bethel Park, PA
