In Logan County, Ohio on 7-29-1850 in Benjamin F. ROBB vs. Hannah ROBB it mentions John ROBB, dec'd, died 9-1-1848. I am trying to determine is John was the father to Benjamin F. ROBB or his brother. This information is from Common Plea Court Records 1850-1851. Can anyone tell me what cemetery John is buried in? Thanks. After all that I forgot 2 names I found. My "other" side of the Miller/Mohr search. BISHOP/FOUST Grandma HELEN MARTHA MILLER married FRED BISHOP. They were from Bellefountaine too. Freds parents were SAMUEL BISHOP & MALINDA FOUST. This is all late 1800's I found: WILL BISHOP JAMES FOUST of Monroe Township. Once again...if anything looks familiar to anybody PLEASE contact me! Thank You! Maggie MacNeill Maggie1178@aol.com
Hello All, A while back I sent for some microfilm back-copies of the Bellefontaine Weekly Examiner. They arrived and I just spent 4 hours giving myself a headache looking thru them. ;o) I will try to make sense of what I found here. I am trying to find any info I can on my grandmother Helen Martha Miller and her parents William Miller and Jennie Mohr. The first thing I noticed were all the Townships. Gretna, DeGraff, Springhills, Bellecenter....etc. Here are the names I found and a bit of what the gossip articles mentioned about them. This could get wordy! MOHR MISS JENNIE MOHR was mentioned in Gretna most often but was referred to as being in Bloomcentre also. She went to DeGraff to take a course in dressmaking. (1888) She spent some time in Springhills to visit relatives. This is the confusing part and I can only assume right now that either AJ died or she divorced him...Married AJ DETRICK in 1889. They had a son in Sept of 1890. BUT...she is still mentioned as MISS Jennie Mohr in articles appearing after these dates. She did alot of visiting! GRANT MOHR...he too visited Springhills. According to the articles he owned a gas well farm...(Nov 30th 1888) Then in Feb of 89 he rented a farm of JOHN MOORE and CHARLEY MOHR and "will move on his gas farm in the summer". MISS IDA MOHR left last Thursday for a few months to visit friends and relatives near Sheldon, Ill. (Feb. 1889) FREDERICK MOHR of DeGraff was here...(Gretna) CHARLES MOHR, son of FREDERICK MOHR married OTTIE BRENNER 2-12-89 Some names of those in attendance: CLAIR MOHR, EMMA MOHR and ELMER MILLER. I am thinking Frederick is Jennies father. MRS HARRIET MOHR....was visited by MRS MOLLIE MILLER of Sweetser, Ind and MRS W.E. MOHR of DeGraff. In March of 89 Harriet moved her family...doesnt say where. Is she Fredericks wife? If so she would be Jennies mother.... S EDGAR MOHR proud father of a baby girl 8-3-1889 DAN MOHR MRS. BARBARA MOHR WILL MOHR MILLER WH MILLER took in the rally at DeGraff last night. (1888) MR & MRS C.A. MILLER son Christmas morning 1888 MRS AMOS MILLER is visiting near Warsaw, Ind. with MRS E. MILLER who is desperately sick. MR E MILLER is a brother of the local MILLER brothers. NOAH MILLER near Lewiston MRS S.H. MILLER of Detroit Street. MISS BELLE MILLER...was a teacher at Dickenson School. SAMUEL MILLER CHARLES MILLER Esq. Could have been C.A. MILLER (?) ALBERT MILLER... A.L. MILLER (?) ISAAC MILLER Bought Zearing & Company...a Merchant Tailor shop HENRY MILLER MRS ANNE MILLER of DeGraff visited JOHN KERRS SAMUEL WAGONER appears to have been a good friend of the MILLER boys. The DETRICK's were friends of the MILLERS and MOHR's as they all seem to have done things together &/or visited each other alot. Most of these names were just mentioned as having "moved cattle" or "visited" or "was here" etc... Anything ring a bell with anyone out there? Maggie MacNeill Maggie1178@aol.com

Looking for WYMAN - MOORE - EMERLING families lived in Logan County in the early to mid 1900's.
Looking for info on the following: Florence-Sebert-Joseph BRATTAIN Ethel-David HOOLEY Howard-George-Valentine POPPS Susan ROACH Eliza-John SYROCK (SHROCK) Thanks, Sue
Regarding the surnames Deck and Patton, I found both in the "Combination Atlas Map of Logan County", published 1875. Listed in Quincy TWP is a J. Wm Patton, settlement date (Logan Co) 1869, nativity Virginia, P.O. Quincy, business---wagon maker. An O.Patton ( no other name given) appears in the same list for Quincy TWP, location Section 23 of the twp, settlement date 1845, nativity Ohio, P.O. De Graf. I bought a copy of this atlas at the Logan Co Courthouse several years ago. I am sure the Logan Co Genealogical Society Library has one; they will do lookups . I am trying to find information on Jacob Moon. I found him in the 1820 & 1830 census for Stark Co, Ohio & on the 1826-1834 Tax Lists. In 1840 & 1850 he appears on the Logan Co census. 1850 census: Jacob-52,Lucinda-36,Catherine-18,Sarah-16,Henry-14,Dorcas-10,Elizabeth-8,Amanda-6 I don't know if Lucinda is his second wife or daughter. His first wife was Catherine Richards. Also, on the 1850 census is his son, Adam Moon. Adam-32, Irene-32,Edward-8,Sarah-6,John-2,Lucinda-1/12 In 1856, Adam Moon & his family moved to Clay Co, IN. Anyone else researching this family? Nancy
I have two ancestors I'm trying to get information on...both in Quincy, LOGAN CO., Oh. in the early to mid 1800's. I am searching for any information on my ancestor Samuel M. Patton. He lived in Quincy, LOGAN CO., OH (Born 5/23/1823 & Died December 22, 1875.) He married a woman named Mary Patton. They had three children, James, Elizabeth & Charlotte. Any information on this family and their roots would be most appreciated as we have no idea if Samuel or Mary were born in Quincy or not. I am also looking for any information on the Deck Family in Quincy Ohio around the same time period. This ancestor is Peter W. Deck (Born who Jan. 1830 / Died Jan. 1911.) who married Mary Elizabeth Cloninger. It appears they moved to Quincy, LOGAN CO.,OH perhaps sometime after 1851 from West Virginia. They had 5 children, Mary, Abnaur, John, Emerson and Addie. Again...any information would be most welcome and I would love to hear from anyone who has run across or is looking into the PATTON, DECK or CLONINGER surnames.
