    1. [OHLOGAN-L] BYRD/BIRD GGGrandmother's Name??
    2. I am looking for information on the name and dates for my gggrandmother. She was married to Wyatt Byrd (Bird) and gave birth to my ggrandfather Abner Byrd in Jefferson township, Logan County, OH in 1843. She died sometime between June 1843 (Abner's dob) and March 1849 when Wyatt remarried. They were listed as free colored or mulatto on census records. I know there are no official death records that early, but I was wondering if someone might come across a grave marker, cemetery record, etc. during their own research. I have no idea where else to look for her name, birth or death info. I did find a marriage bond record for Wyatt Bird and Alpha Measler April 22, 1842 in Henry Co, TN - but that seems to be in the wrong direction. (?) But then if there was a grave site for Alpha Byrd ... (?) Any help would be appreciated. Jan K

I have been working on Patrick Ronan who married Catherine McMorrow (Murray) in Clark County in 1857. I cannot find her or her parents in a census prior to that date. A man named Pat McMorrow lived with Catherine & Patrick Ronan in the 1870 Allamakee Co, Iowa census so presume her father is Pat McMorrow. Anyone recognize this family? Thanks, Maggie

    1. [OHLOGAN-L] Memoirs of the Miami Valley Vol 3: Logan Co
    2. Susan Williams
    3. Have completely photocopied this huge (over 700 page) book printed by Robert Law Co, in 1920, but discovered that it was never properly indexed. Ex: John & Mary (JONES) SMITH may appear but the data included in their history never shows up in the index. Many times there are secondary biographies of his ancestors, siblings, her ancestors, siblings, plus the "married into" families associated with a group.....even "business partners". Of course, the accuracy is always questionable since the people in it submitted their own biographies & then PAID/subscribed to have their lives included. Question: Has anyone ever completely indexed this entire work ? If NO, other than line-by-line data entry, can anyone suggest a good way to get this accomplished ? This data is probably NOT ever going to be available to the "computer" genealogists & is too valuable a research tool to ignore. I live in Gilbert AZ (SE Phoenix metro). If anyone near me is willing to act as my "reader", giving me the names as I type it in, I'll consider doing the entry work.... Susan Bidwell Williams slw02@sprynet.com.

Susan Bidwell Williams slw02@sprynet.com. >> Susan, If the book was scanned into a word document it could easily be indexed. It would be easiest if the word document was imported into PageMaker which converts it into a book format and creates the index with page numbers. If you could get the pages scanned, I would be willing to get the document indexed and printed for you. I would do the scanning also but I would not be able to start for a couple of months. I have several other projects I am working on right now. Let me know if I can help you. Cheryl Hawley
