Mark..I know of no such John KITCHEN of Logan County. I am a descendent of Edward and Ann CANBY KITCHEN, who first settled on land (now) known as Mountain Lake. The many descendents of this KITCHEN line do not include John J. Edward's children included: Joseph (married McCARRELL), Edward (married ANSLEY), Charles (married GABLE) and Richard (married FICHTHORN). These families were in Logan County from ca 1830 to present). Hi List. Could someone in Logan Co., OH, please help me find the below name person. He may not be in Logan Co. now. I don't know. Family information says that he may have died about 10 years ago. >From a beginner, Where would I look for copies of obits? The Bellefontaine Library only has copies back to 1978 and then only if the person died in Logan Co. Could they be printed off from microfilm newspapers? If so how far back do these papers go? Ah, the questions of a beginner! ;-)
I apologize if I am sending this to the wrong address. I am receiving the same messages over and over again. There were quite a few of us having this same problem in December or January. It seems to have started on Feb 14th. The mail hangs up and cannot go beyond message 7. The details give Hodge . Hudnall . Long . Mathis . McCabe . McGowan . Robbins . Stillwell which makes me think it is on one of the Gen. lists. I have gone to Mail Start and deleted but it just keeps coming up every time I go into Outlook Express. Any suggestions? June J

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows how to contact J. Paul Hatcher, who put together the "Abridged Family Trees for the Families of FIGLEY, GARWOOD, GRUBBS, HATCHER, INSKEEP, MARQUIS, NICHOLS, REA, SKIDMORE," located in the Logan Co. Library. I tried to contact him by phone a while back, but the number had been disconnected. The book says he was from Southfield, MI, but gave no address, only the phone number. I would like to get a copy of this book, without photocopying the whole thing! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kendra Krouskop-Smith

My Logan County Surname is RULE. My ancestor, James Monroe RULE was born in Bellefountaine, Logan Co. on December 30, 1830, died in Logan, Harrison Co., IA December 28 1879. His parents are unknown but one bit of oral family history has his mother's name as Helen MCDONALD. James' first born son's name was Lawrence, and I have found a Lawrence RULE living in Logan Co on the 1840 census. Perhaps this is his father. This line is one of my dead ends. Thanks, Tami Froelich
Does anyone one the list know which Native Americans were in Logan Co in the late 1700's and early 1800's? Have been told the Frantz family was Native American but have no proof. thanks for any help Wilma
