    3. Just found a really great website - perhaps you already know of it, but it has a Search Forum format under individual surnames. If your surname isn't listed, you can request that they add your surname to their forum list. You may find a lot of listings under one surname, but you can look thru list to see if any are working on YOUR particular one. It's http://genforum.genealogy.com. Susan

    1. [OHLOGAN-L] JOHN B. MORRIS - OH>IL
    2. I have received a treasure box of old photographs, including the wedding photo of John B. and Adora (McArthur) Morris taken in Springfield OH in 1868 and an individual portrait photo of John B. One of the children's photos could be one of their daughters. I have not found any descendants of John and Adora ... does anyone connect with the following? ....... or does anyone have any clues? JOHN B. MORRIS b 21 July 1839 Harmony Twp., Clark Co., OH, s/o James and Martha (Henry) Morris. John grew up on the family farm in Harmony Twp; his father died when he was 7, but his mother and older brothers kept the farm going. John enlisted in the OH VOLS (don't know which unit), fought in the Civil War, returned to Clark Co. and m ADORA McARTHUR in 1868. They moved to DeWitt Co., IL where he farmed; he died 20 January 1885 in DeWitt Co., IL He and Adora had 6 children; Adora and the children returned to OH after his death ... and that's where my info ends. Can anyone steer me to descendants of any of the following children? McArthur Morris b Feb 1870 Barnett Twp., DeWitt Co., IL Curtis Morris b c 1872 DeWitt Co., IL Martha Morris b c 1873 " " m Unknown MORGAN Olive Morris b c 1875 " " Bessie Morris b c 1877 " " m Unknown BIDWELL William H. Morris b c 1879 " " Also in the box of photos was one of John's mother, Martha "Patsy" Henry Morris (d/o William Henry and Elizabeth Johnson) taken when she was in her 80's ... I'd kill anyone who took my picture when I was that old, but I have it anyone ... she was once young and beautiful with masses of red hair, it is said! 3. To all: Concensus has been tthat cause of my Gt grM's death in 1877 due to "toncoultemia" is a septic infection caused by tonsils or by a complication of pregnancy. Both are within the realm of possibility & will considered as viable causes by family until an actual copy of death cert. can be obtained. Thx Again from the Bidwell descendants, Susan Bidwell Williams slw02@sprynet.com

    1. [OHLOGAN-L] CRANDALL, Angeline Melissa
    2. At 15 years old or so CRANDALL, Angeline Melissa boarded a covered wagon and headed out west so she would not have to marry an older man. Her father was a Mormon,I believe. She married BRUNTY, John T. (from Ireland?) and it is believed that may have been in Susanville, Lassen Co., CA where she also gave birth to her son, BRUNTY, John F. b. 21/04/1865, however, there seem to be no records in Lassen Co. as it was a goldrush town. (The "F" in my Grandfather's name stands for Francisco (as in San Francisco), and I believe it's because John T. might have left Ireland during the potato family and gone straight for the gold. I have no idea where to start, but had such a situation in TN and it seemes as though everybody seemed to rally 'round me. Hope you will help too.

    1. [OHLOGAN-L] Hill -Sickles letter 1853 or 1857
    2. Bill & Linda Boorom
    3. Hi everyone, I have a letter which may be of interest to someone researching Logan Co. The writing is very faint, I am unable to make out the year of the letter for certain, I think perhaps it is possible 1857. I believe at one time this letter was in the possession of my husband's grgrandfather Frederick Boorom (1838-1921). Perhaps he was to deliver it and never did? In 1836 Caleb Hill married Barbara Ann Booram in Hamilton Co. OH. In 1840 they resided in Hamilton Co., but by 1850 they are found in Logan Co. Caleb is age 39, Barbara age 34 and the cencus lists the following children: Margaret J. age 13, Rebecca age 11, Jesse age 7, Nancy age 4 and Harriett age 1. This letter, however is written by a Nancy Hill to her parents Isaac & Jane Sickles in Butlerville, Warren Co. OH. I suspect that Barbara had died and Caleb had married again. I believe that Barbara Ann Booram Hill and Frederick Boorom were siblings, both children of Jesse Booram b. 1780-90 d. 1845, and grandchildren of Aaron Boram/Booram who b. 1760-66, d. Hamilton Co. 1846. I have more info, will share to all interested. Will also welcome comments/info on the letter and the people named within in it. The letter follows, Linda Boorom Hamilton Co. 3. Can anyone provide me with any information regarding the family of Thomas Frederick Rodhouse of Wellington, Ohio - wife was a Julia Couch; one daughter was Mary Elizabeth Rodhouse (m Major Harold Creglow), also beleived to have had a brother Walter and a sister Julia. I also understand there was also an Ernest Rodhouse, wife was probably Sara - the time period would be mid to late 1800's - early 1900's. F.T. Rodhouse probably died in 1916 according to one source I have, his wife in 1914. All buried in Wellington - any help appreciated.

    1. [OHLOGAN-L] Re: Miller sisters
    2. Hi Don, would your Miller sisters have had a brother--sorry, I don't have a given name--who would have been born between 1830-1835 or so, maybe earlier? I am a ggranddaughter of Harriet Cookston Reynolds. Harriet had an older sister, Sarah, who married a Miller. They had a son Howard, and a daughter, Laura who married a McCune. Any of this ring any bells for you?? Best of Luck. Suz (Susan Cruse, Ohioan in Oregon)
