Hello Bruce, I have Alvin( see note at end),Brooks mar to a Hannah Armstrong in Licking Co Oh 1841. I have found out that there were Brooks in Oh very early and in prob early 1700's in Oh. There were many in a number of diff. counties in Oh by the 1841 marriage. NOTE: This Alvin had a name of Elmer either for a middle name or first?. Used Alvin to marry Hannah must have died when??, as This Alvin is found in Fayette Co Iowa by 19 00's and may be where he died in Hawkeye, Fayette Co. He was mar to Anna Spoors used the name of Elmer. Here is what I have on these Early ( as I have), Brooks. Don't have his parents. Alvin Brooks mar Hannah Armstrong 14 Oct. 1841 Licking Co Oh. ( In LDS Mariage extracted record it has Alva, as they prob couldn't read it correctly.) Elmer Brooks Mar. Anna Spoors nothing more on the two above. are the same. Son of above.
