This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------16B965DF3FAF Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Tami, Thanks for the offer to look up information in the Centennial Hist. of Licking County. I'm interested in information about Johnstown and my ancestors who lived in or near there. ABEL JEWETT, 1760 - 1821 and his wife SARAH DWINNEL; their children: ABEL, DAVID, NATHAN. Their grandchildren: NATHAN (1815 - ?), ABIGAIL, Rev. TIMOTHY, SARAH ANN. Their great grandchildren: ABEL (1834 - 1863), VICTOR, LORETTA, SUSANNAH, NATHAN, WILSON, DYER, ABIGAIL, HARRIET, AMOS, MARY ALICE. ABEL JEWETT came to Johnstown from Vermont in 1815 with his son ABEL. Both died in 1821 in Johnstown and are buried in the Old Colonial Cemetery in Johnstown. The family moved to the Monmouth, Iowa area in the mid-1850s. I don't know why. I have often wondered why both father and son died in the same year (1821). I'm not certain what is in your Centennial History volumes. Anything at all about the daily life of the Johnstown area would be of interest. Who settled and founded Johnstown? When? etc. Was there an Indian raid in 1821? A smallpox epidemic in 1821? Thanks for any information, Nancy Anwyll in Virginia --------------16B965DF3FAF Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <OHLICKIN-L-request@rootsweb.com> Received: from bl-11.rootsweb.com (bl-11.rootsweb.com [204.212.38.27]) by jefferson.patriot.net (8.8.7/8.8.7) with ESMTP id QAA03423 for <nanwyll@patriot.net>; Sat, 20 Nov 1999 16:46:26 -0500 Received: (from slist@localhost) by bl-11.rootsweb.com (8.9.3/8.9.3) id NAA16865; Sat, 20 Nov 1999 13:41:38 -0800 (PST) Resent-Date: Sat, 20 Nov 1999 13:41:38 -0800 (PST) Message-ID: <000501bf33a0$68945a00$7aeb29d1@tami> Reply-To: "Tami Mockus" <megans@alink.com> From: megans@alink.com (Mockus, Tammi) Old-To: <OHLICKIN-L@rootsweb.com> Subject: Will look up Date: Sat, 20 Nov 1999 16:44:22 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.1 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Resent-Message-ID: <2LamoC.A.RHE.RWxN4@bl-11.rootsweb.com> To: OHLICKIN-L@rootsweb.com Resent-From: OHLICKIN-L@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <OHLICKIN-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/723 X-Loop: OHLICKIN-L@rootsweb.com Precedence: list Resent-Sender: OHLICKIN-L-request@rootsweb.com Hello, I have the 2 vol's of Centennial History of the city of Newark and Licking Co.
