I believe I am descended from William SHAW b. 1829 in Ohio. He is the son of Zachariah SHAW b. 1807 in Licking County. Zachariah died April 30, 1871 in Lewistown, Fulton County, Illinois. My great-grandmother was Ellen P. SHAW b. 1865 in Fulton County. Her Fulton County marriage record of August 6, 1885 to Robert J. RICHARDSON b. 1863 in Fulton County shows her parents as William SHAW and Margaret (Stevenson) SHAW. Robert's parents are shown as John R. and Ellen (Davis) RICHARDSON. I am attempting to verify that my William is the same William born to Zachariah in 1829. However, there were a number of SHAWs that came through Licking County and settled in Fulton County. I am also attempting to determine if there is a link to my RICHARDSON (sometimes spelled RITCHARDSON) line in Licking County. Some of my research points to that possibility.
