I'm stumped on my STUMPs/STOMPs. According to the 1860 Ohio census, J.A.C. (or I.A.C.) STOMP, age 21,born in MD, was living in Columbus with his wife, Elizabeth (STEED), born 1835? Licking Co. to Peter & Rachel STEED, and their year-old son, Robert. STOMP was my ggrandfather, but what was his name? The couple married in Licking Co, possibly moved to Pataskala for the birth of their son in 1859-60, then on to Columbus for the census-taking. J.A.C. (possibly known as Columbus) died of smallpox near an Army encampment at Rising Sun, IN (or OH?) about 1865. A few years later his widow, Elizabeth (STEED) STOMP married William S. EASTON, b. 1812-13, Newark, Licking Co. They had a daughter, Marguerite May EASTON, who married and moved to CA. Does anyone have access to birth, school, marriage, or death records for 1860-90 Lickinig Co, OH? Thanx, Mickey
