I am interested in the SHAW family that lived briefly at least in Perry County between 1827 and 1832. The William SHAW family, along with the Neal SHAW family moved from the vicinity of Fauquier Co., VA., through Chillicothe to Perry Co., where they all stopped until 1832. The entire Neal Shaw family and a portion of the William SHAW family moved through Licking County and on up to the newly opened Auglaize County, settling along the Allen Co. and Auglaize Co. border near the Auglaize River. William SHAW, b. 1791, m. Dec. 27, 1813 at Fauquier Co., VA. to Nancy Polly Burke (bro. George Burke was the bondsman). Bought 79.1 acres of land at the Chillicothe land office in 1827. Neal SHAW, b. Mar. 6, 1779, m. Elizabeth ??, listed in Perry Co., OH 1830 Census records, d. Nov. 24, 1860, Auglaize Co., OH. Neal's son, Strother H., who remained in VA., was listed in Faquier Co., VA 1820 census as a wheelwright, while William and Neal were both listed in the same census as being engaged in manufacturing. A Joseph Shaw and a Henry Shaw purchased land at the Auglaize Co. land office the same day as Neal SHAW in 1836. Sons of William or siblings is unknown. Elizabeth Sarah SHAW, was a sister to William and Neal, b. ?, m. Dec. 23, 1816 to John Burke at Fauquier or Culpeper Co., VA., d. ? No other known records of her. Parents and other possible siblings of William, Neal and Elizabeth are unknown. Children coming from VA with William are unknown. William's known children are: Sarah: b. ?, m.
