I have discovered quite a bit about Thomas George Chidester and now I looking for anyone else researching these families. I have found Thomas George and his family in all of the Censuses from 1850 to 1900. He died in 1904 and I am currently waiting on a response from NARA for his Civil War pension, if he had one, and his service record. I have found a number of family names which are connected with Thomas and his descendants and I would like to hear from anyone researching them. The Chidesters lived in the Southeast and Central portions of Ohio from the early 1800's on. The families which have clear links are: ROSE (1876 on), HILES (ca 1920), REVERCOMB (1920 on), MARRIOTT (ca 1900), BOUDINOT (ca 1820), GRIFFITH (ca 1820), GORDON (ca 1820), LAYTON (1920 on) and the various spellings of CHIDESTER (1800 on). I will be happy to share information, but I would really love to exchange information. -- John Middleton, Leawood, Kansas Middleton, SCT>Liverpool, Eng>Chicago, IL, 1800-1920; Neely, IRL>PA, 1759-1900; Chid(d)ester, WV>OH, 1800-1900; Som(m)erville, Grasmere, Eng, 1700-1850 Web Page: http://www.planetkc.com/jmcpa -- Unbuttoned Press - Genealogy Publishing
